Important Information for International Students

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION:
Furman offers very limited financial aid to international students. We offer only two full scholarships to two incoming international freshmen per year. These freshman scholarships are highly competitive and based on academic excellence, strong standardized test scores, and fit to Furman. In order to be considered for these scholarships, a student must submit their application by January 15, 2010. There is not a separate application required to be considered for an international scholarship, only the application for admission.
We do not offer any international transfer scholarships or financial aid.
ACADEMIC STATISTICS:
We require the TOEFL (for students with English as a foregin langague,) and strongly encourage at least one testing of either the SAT I (Scholastic Aptitude Test), or the ACT (American College Testing). We require a minimum TOEFL score of 105 internet-based, 260 computer-based, or a 620 paper-based to be competitive for the scholarship competition. Our middle 50% SAT is 1200-1400 and ACT is 26-32. The average GPA is 3.68 on a 4.0 scale. We are looking for students that are motivated, involved, intelligent, and excited about learning.

- Official High School Transcript (First Year and Transfer)

- CSS International Student Profile (Optional, but strongly encouraged.) You may complete this document here.

HINTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:
- Your application is our main indicator of your academic and extracurricular abilities. Please include as much information as possible in this application in order that we are able to better evaluate you for both admission and scholarship opportunities.
- The scholarship evaluation process is very competitive. Any international students not selected to receive a scholarship would then be responsible for the full cost of attendance to Furman University.
